Most homeowners never deal with a distributor directly, but the one behind your equipment shapes what happens if something goes wrong in year four. When we recommend a brand, the local supply chain is part of the decision, not an afterthought.

What we look for in a distributor

• Australian testing. European equipment needs to be proven for local conditions and standards before it goes into a home. The Maxa heat pumps Next Cycle supplies, for example, have been independently tested and certified for Australian conditions.
• Local parts. A sensor, fan motor or circuit board sitting in an Australian warehouse means days without heating, not weeks waiting on a shipment from Europe.
• Warranty handled locally. Claims run through the distributor, so we want one that registers warranties properly and backs installers when a fault needs diagnosing.
• Technical support. On larger or unusual jobs, access to the distributor's technical team helps us confirm selections before anything is ordered.

Questions worth asking any installer: are you authorised for this brand? Who registers the warranty, and in whose name? Where do spare parts come from, and who services the system after the first year? A confident installer answers all of these without hesitation — and if the answer is "we just buy it online", that's a warning sign. On our installs, the warranty is registered at commissioning with the model and serial details recorded, so any future claim starts with the paperwork already in order.
